Let's build a solar-powered water pump together in Birmingham
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a solar-powered water pump - we need $3,450 for materials.

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 29 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Maple bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $3,450.
It will serve about 552 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in April and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $3,450 goes:
• Materials: $2,850
• Permits and inspections: $270
• Safety equipment and signage: $135
• Tools hire and delivery: $195
