Let's build a skate park together in Laredo
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a skate park - we need $2,650 for materials.
🇺🇸 United States2,472 views
For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a skate park. This year a group of 23 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Baobab vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $2,650.
It will serve about 538 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $2,650 goes:
• Materials: $1,500
• Permits and inspections: $330
• Safety equipment and signage: $400
• Tools hire and delivery: $420
Thanks for being kind about this.

Looking forward to the next update. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Thinking of Laredo.
Sending good thoughts, Gregory. Hope you get there. Take care.
good luck. Hope you get there. I went through something like this 13 years ago and strangers helped me out. All the best
rooting for you, Gregory. It takes guts to ask. Well done. My neighbor in San Nicolás de los Garza donated after I showed her your page.
Hope things get better soon, Gregory. Gave what I could, wish it was more.
