Let's build a sensory garden for children with autism together in Bogotá
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a sensory garden for children with autism - we need $900 for materials.
Anywhere in the world415 views
For five years the neighborhood has asked for a sensory garden for children with autism. This year a group of 20 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Cedar bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $900.
It will serve about 84 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in December and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $900 goes:
• Materials: $710
• Permits and inspections: $45
• Safety equipment and signage: $50
• Tools hire and delivery: $95
Thanks for being kind about this.
