Let's build a repair café workshop together in Los Angeles

For three years the neighborhood has asked for a repair café workshop. This year a group of 28 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Liberty Park, but no funding. We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $3,300. It will serve about 190 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in August and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $3,300 goes: • Materials: $2,200 • Permits and inspections: $400 • Safety equipment and signage: $330 • Tools hire and delivery: $370 I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.
