Let's build a free library and reading room together in Bowling Green
A community-led a free library and reading room at the old Liberty bus depot that will serve 578 neighbors.

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a free library and reading room. This year a group of 24 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Liberty bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $3,050.
It will serve about 578 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $3,050 goes:
• Safety equipment and signage: $230
• Materials: $2,500
• Tools hire and delivery: $320
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.
