Lapu-Lapu
For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a covered market stall space. This year a group of 10 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Harmony community hall, but no funding. We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $80, and the remaining cost is $500. It will serve about 365 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $500 goes: • Materials: $340 • Permits and inspections: $35 • Safety equipment and signage: $65 • Tools hire and delivery: $60 If you're reading this, thank you.
