Let's build a community garden together in Columbus
A community-led a community garden at the Freedom vacant lot that will serve 544 neighbors.

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 13 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Freedom vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $3,250.
It will serve about 544 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in May and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Nolan.
