We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a community fridge - we need $2,450 for materials.

Ballarat
For five years the neighborhood has asked for a community fridge. This year a group of 22 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Baobab community hall, but no funding. We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $2,450. It will serve about 531 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $2,450 goes: • Materials: $1,500 • Permits and inspections: $170 • Safety equipment and signage: $200 • Tools hire and delivery: $580 Glad we found this place. - Sophie
