Leila needs two washing machines and a dryer to reopen a laundry service
Leila has run a laundry service for four years; a fire in the building destroyed the equipment, and $550 will put it back on its feet.

For four years I have run a laundry service in Shubra. In April, a fire in the building took two washing machines and a dryer. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Saturday, and I employed 1 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 8 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go.
Where the $550 goes:
• Replacing two washing machines and a dryer: $250
• Initial stock: detergent and packaging: $140
• Shop repairs and licensing: $65
• Working capital for the first month: $95
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.
Updates from Leila
Good news. Because of your gifts ($89 in total) I made the first payment toward replacing two washing machines and a dryer. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
Thank you all. We're at 15% now ($84). I'm honestly stunned. I made the first payment toward replacing two washing machines and a dryer.
