Komal needs a prosthetic leg - help us make it happen
A prosthetic leg would give Komal independence - we're $900 away.
🇮🇳 India808 views
Komal lives with muscular dystrophy. The occupational therapist at the Varanasi Rehabilitation Centre has assessed her and recommended a prosthetic leg. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $900.
Her current equipment is 15 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined her to home for 5 weeks.
With the right equipment Komal could get to the shops and visit friends. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $900 goes:
• prosthetic leg: $820
• Fitting and training sessions: $35
• Delivery and set-up: $25
• First-year servicing plan: $20
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

sending good thoughts, Kalyani. I hope things turn around soon. Wish I lived closer to Gazipur so I could bring a meal. Love from Colombo.
Take care, Kalyani. Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick.
Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Komal
It's all in the list in the story. prosthetic leg is the big one at $820, I'll post a receipt when it's paid.
Shared it with a few friends. I have a 16 year old who wants to send good wishes too. Thinking of Varanasi
you're not alone, Kalyani. Your post was clear and honest. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Love from Melbourne.
Praying for you. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. It's not much but it's yours. All the best.
