Kiptoo was diagnosed with early-stage lung cancer in June. The oncology team at Dar es Salaam Regional Medical Center has planned 8 rounds of treatment, starting in October. He will be away from work for about 6 weeks. Kiptoo is 42, worked as a bakery worker until June, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Dar es Salaam Regional Medical Center 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders. I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes. Where the $1,300 goes: • Transport to Dar es Salaam Regional Medical Center: $75 • Household costs while unable to work: $145 • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $960 • Scans and lab work: $120 I hope life is good to you.
