Jalandhar
The water account is 2 months behind. Vijay received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on March unless $100 is paid. He had never been late before a reduction in hours. Vijay called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $20 first, which isn't available. The household includes a parent on oxygen therapy, and going through the rainy season without water isn't safe. We would also lose the ability to run the medical equipment at home. Vijay is working on getting back on his feet, and wants to pay it forward once steady. The money will go directly to the utility provider, and I'll post the paid statement here. Where the $100 goes: • Water arrears: $50 • Reconnection and late fees: $15 • Down payment on a payment plan: $35 You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it. - Ravi
