The heating account is 2 months behind. I received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on November unless I pay $250. I have never been late before July's medical emergency.
I called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $40 first, which I don't have.
I live with an elderly mother, and going through winter without heating isn't safe. We would also lose the ability to run the medical equipment at home.
I'm working on getting back on my feet, and will pay forward whatever help I can once I'm steady.
The money will go directly to the utility provider, and I'll post the paid statement here.

Thank you all. We're at 39% now ($97). I'm honestly stunned. the first invoice got paid this week.
We're at 31% thanks to 4 of you. I made the first payment toward down payment on a payment plan. More news soon.
Quick update: $47 raised so far (19%). I met with the utility company and confirmed the amounts. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.
