The heating account is 4 months behind. I received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on January unless I pay $200. I have never been late before a reduction in hours. I called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $30 first, which I don't have. I live with two young children, and going through the cold months without heating isn't safe. We would also lose the ability to run the medical equipment at home. I'm working on getting back on my feet, and will pay forward whatever help I can once I'm steady. The money will go directly to the utility provider, and I'll post the paid statement here. Where the $200 goes: • Electricity arrears: $95 • Reconnection and late fees: $40 • Down payment on a payment plan: $65 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen. - Fernanda
