The electricity and water account is 3 months behind. Valentyna received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on November unless $150 is paid. She had never been late before my partner leaving the household. Valentyna called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $25 first, which isn't available. The household includes a newborn, and going through summer without electricity and water isn't safe. Without it we can't refrigerate insulin and food, or keep the house at a safe temperature. Valentyna is working on getting back on her feet, and wants to pay it forward once steady. The money will go directly to the utility provider, and I'll post the paid statement here. Where the $150 goes: • Heating arrears: $55 • Reconnection and late fees: $30 • Down payment on a payment plan: $65 Thank you for reading my story.
