The electricity and water account is 4 months behind. Hauwa received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on October unless $100 is paid. She had never been late before a reduction in hours.
Hauwa called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $10 first, which isn't available.
The household includes a disabled brother, and going through summer without electricity and water isn't safe. Without it we can't refrigerate insulin and food, or keep the house at a safe temperature.
Hauwa is working on getting back on her feet, and wants to pay it forward once steady.
Every dollar goes to the account in Hauwa's name; a copy of the paid bill will be shared in the updates.
