The electricity and water account is 4 months behind. Emilia received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on November unless $1,000 is paid. She had never been late before August's medical emergency.
Emilia called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $135 first, which isn't available.
The household includes three children under ten, and going through summer without electricity and water isn't safe. We can't cook, keep medicine cold or heat the home.
Emilia is working on getting back on her feet, and wants to pay it forward once steady.
