Keep a roof over Regina's head in A Coruña
A cut in working hours left Regina short on rent for 3 months; help us stay in our home.
🇪🇸 Galicia, Spain1,209 views
After a sudden layoff at the packaging plant, Regina fell 3 months behind on rent. Last Thursday a notice to vacate was taped to the door, and the amount owed is $2,450.
The landlord was understanding for a while, but has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by October, the family must leave.
There are two young children at home. Moving would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
Regina has started working weekend shifts, and is applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
The money will be paid directly to the landlord and I'll upload the receipt once it's done.
Where the $2,450 goes:
• Rent arrears (3 months): $2,200
• Utilities in arrears: $120
• Late fees and court costs: $130
