Keep a roof over Qasim's head in Cairo
After a car accident, Qasim is 3 months behind on rent and has a notice to vacate from the landlord.

After a car accident that kept me from work for 10 weeks, I fell 3 months behind on rent. Last Tuesday a notice to vacate was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $700.
My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by September, we must leave.
I have a teenager still in school at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
I have started working night deliveries, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent.
Where the $700 goes:
• First month of rent as a buffer: $125
• Late fees and court costs: $45
• Rent arrears (3 months): $530
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

Updates from Qasim
Good news. Because of your gifts ($427 in total) I made the first payment toward late fees and court costs. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
Good news. Because of your gifts ($95 in total) the plan for late fees and court costs is now scheduled. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
Update from Cairo: we've started the first stage. We're at 6% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.

Your post was clear and honest. Greetings from Odesa.
Sending love, Qasim. Gave what I could, wish it was more. All the best.
I hope things turn around soon. We're a small family in Guarulhos but we're thinking of you. Blessings
