Keep a roof over Kweku's head in Kumasi
After a sudden layoff, Kweku is 3 months behind on rent and has a notice to vacate from the landlord.

After a car accident that kept me from work for 8 weeks, I fell 3 months behind on rent. Last Saturday a notice to vacate was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $550.
My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by October, we must leave.
I've 1 children at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
I have started working night deliveries, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
The money will be paid directly to the landlord and I'll upload the receipt once it's done.
Where the $550 goes:
• Rent arrears (3 months): $320
• Late fees and court costs: $30
• Utilities in arrears: $40
• First month of rent as a buffer: $160
Glad we found this place.

Updates from Kweku
Small update. $355 so far, we've started the first stage.
Good news. Because of your gifts ($100 in total) I met with the landlord and confirmed the amounts. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

Sending strength. I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. Greetings from Asaba.
Sending good thoughts, Kweku. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. Don't be hard on yourself for asking.
