Keep a roof over Ian's head in Detroit
The closure of the factory left Ian short on rent for 2 months; help us stay in our home.

After a sudden layoff at the textile factory, I fell 2 months behind on rent. Last Saturday a 10-day notice to quit was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $3,750.
My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by December, we must leave.
I have three school-aged children at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
I have started working night deliveries, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent.
Where the $3,750 goes:
• Rent arrears (2 months): $2,800
• Late fees and court costs: $165
• Utilities in arrears: $240
• First month of rent as a buffer: $545
Thank you so much.

Updates from Ian
Small update. $1,390 so far, the first invoice got paid this week.
Thank you all. We're at 18% now ($684). I'm honestly stunned. I made the first payment toward utilities in arrears.
