After a sudden layoff at the bakery, Alexandre fell 4 months behind on rent. Last Saturday a final eviction notice was taped to the door, and the amount owed is $2,350. The landlord was understanding for a while, but has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by December, the family must leave. There are 2 children at home. Moving would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
