Karanja is facing early-stage lung cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Karanja was diagnosed with early-stage lung cancer in June. The oncology team at Jinja University Hospital has planned 4 rounds of treatment, starting in September. He will be away from work for about 5 weeks.
Karanja is 37, worked as a tailor until June, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Jinja University Hospital 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.

• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $490
• Scans and lab work: $240
• Transport to Jinja University Hospital: $145
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $90
• Household costs while unable to work: $235
