In May I was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma. My oncology team at Toronto Regional Medical Center has planned 4 rounds of treatment, and the first starts in August. I was told to expect about 5 weeks away from work. I never imagined I'd be writing something like this. I'm 57, I worked as a cleaner at a hospital until May, and I have been the main earner for my household. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, transport to Toronto Regional Medical Center 2 times a week, and the income I have lost add up quickly. My family is doing everything they can, but we've already sold what we could and are borrowing for groceries. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $2,650 goes: • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $880 • Scans and lab work: $950 • Transport to Toronto Regional Medical Center: $820 Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot. - Joshua

    • Best of luck. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. My colleague had a similar thing happen so this one hit home.

Wishing you peace, Joshua. Wishing Joshua a smooth procedure and a full recovery. After 24 years in engineering I know how hard it's to ask for anything. All the best
