A cochlear implant processor upgrade would give Joshua independence - we're $6,500 away.

Joshua lives with cerebral palsy. The occupational therapist at the Bronx Rehabilitation Centre has assessed him and recommended a cochlear implant processor upgrade. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $6,500.
His current equipment is 9 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined him to home for 3 weeks.
With the right equipment Joshua could get to the shops and visit friends. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered.
Where the $6,500 goes:
• cochlear implant processor upgrade: $6,250
• Fitting and training sessions: $130
• Delivery and set-up: $120
