Isha lives with a spinal cord injury. The occupational therapist at Mumbai General Hospital has assessed her and recommended a braille note-taker. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $550. Her current equipment is 10 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined her to home for 10 weeks. With the right equipment Isha could go outside without waiting for someone to push. It would change everyday life for the whole family. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered. Where the $550 goes: • Fitting and training sessions: $50 • braille note-taker: $470 • Delivery and set-up: $30 Thanks for being kind about this.

Updates from Chinmay

  1. Quick update: $150 raised so far (27%). I met with the supplier and confirmed the amounts. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.

  2. Good news. Because of your gifts ($150 in total) the plan for braille note-taker is now scheduled. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

  3. Thank you all. We're at 9% now ($50). I'm honestly stunned. I met with the supplier and confirmed the amounts.

is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Isha

Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. fitting and training sessions comes first ($50) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. Ask me anything else.
