Irfan lives with low vision from retinitis pigmentosa. The occupational therapist at the Jakarta Barat Rehabilitation Centre has assessed him and recommended a braille note-taker. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $1,450.
His current equipment is 9 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined him to home for 4 weeks.
With the right equipment Irfan could go to school independently. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
