Independence for Julieta: specialist standing frame
A specialist standing frame would give Julieta independence - we're $1,200 away.
Anywhere in the world695 views
Julieta lives with muscular dystrophy. The occupational therapist at the Bogotá Mobility Clinic has assessed her and recommended a specialist standing frame. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $1,200.
Her current equipment is 8 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined her to home for 6 weeks.
With the right equipment Julieta could go to school independently. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered.
Where the $1,200 goes:
• specialist standing frame: $1,100
• Delivery and set-up: $15
• First-year servicing plan: $85
Glad we found this place.

Thinking of you, Paula. Your post was clear and honest. My neighbor had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Blessings.
Wishing you the best. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money.
Wishing you peace, Paula. Looking forward to the next update. Please keep us posted. Take care.
