Independence for Hatem: pair of hearing aids
Hatem needs a pair of hearing aids that the health system won't fund; the cost is $550.
Anywhere in the world591 views
Hatem lives with an amputation below the knee. The occupational therapist at the Mecca Rehabilitation Centre has assessed him and recommended a pair of hearing aids. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $550.
His current equipment is 11 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined him to home for 5 weeks.
With the right equipment Hatem could join the school sports day. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered.
Where the $550 goes:
• First-year servicing plan: $180
• Fitting and training sessions: $240
• Delivery and set-up: $130
