Independence for Halima: pair of hearing aids
Help Halima get a pair of hearing aids so She can go to school independently.
🇰🇪 Kasarani, Nairobi, Kenya599 views
I live with cerebral palsy. My occupational therapist at Kasarani General Hospital has assessed me and recommended a pair of hearing aids. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $1,350.
My current equipment is 13 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 12 weeks.
With the right equipment I could go to school independently. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $1,350 goes:
• pair of hearing aids: $1,200
• Fitting and training sessions: $45
• Delivery and set-up: $20
• First-year servicing plan: $85
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Halima!
Pair of hearing aids is $1,200 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page. Happy to explain more.
