Gbenga lives with multiple sclerosis. The occupational therapist at Wudil General Hospital has assessed him and recommended a pair of hearing aids. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $500. His current equipment is 9 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined him to home for 3 weeks. With the right equipment Gbenga could get to the shops and visit friends. It would change everyday life for the whole family. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered. Where the $500 goes: • pair of hearing aids: $410 • Fitting and training sessions: $45 • Delivery and set-up: $15 • First-year servicing plan: $30 Thanks for being kind about this. - Nnamdi

Thank you. If you're in Wudil I'll say if something practical comes up. For now sharing this is great. Thanks for asking.

    • Wishing you peace, Nnamdi. This could happen to any of us.

      • hope it all works out, Nnamdi. Get well soon. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double.
