Independence for Frank: braille note-taker

A braille note-taker would give Frank independence - we're $900 away.

Frank lives with a rare neuromuscular condition. The occupational therapist at the Lexington Rehabilitation Centre has assessed him and recommended a braille note-taker. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $900. His current equipment is 15 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined him to home for 10 weeks. With the right equipment Frank could join the school sports day. It would change everyday life for the whole family. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered. Where the $900 goes: • Delivery and set-up: $105 • First-year servicing plan: $450 • Fitting and training sessions: $345 If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.

Updates from Tammy

  1. Update from Lexington: the plan for first-year servicing plan is now scheduled. We're at 16% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.

  2. Thank you all. We're at 11% now ($95). I'm honestly stunned. I made the first payment toward delivery and set-up.
