Independence for Elena: adapted tricycle
Elena needs an adapted tricycle that the health system won't fund; the cost is $500.
🇵🇭 Philippines143 views
Elena lives with low vision from retinitis pigmentosa. The occupational therapist at the Quezon City Rehabilitation Centre has assessed her and recommended an adapted tricycle. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $500.
Her current equipment is 11 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined her to home for 6 weeks.
With the right equipment Elena could go to school independently. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered.
Where the $500 goes:
• adapted tricycle: $380
• Fitting and training sessions: $60
• Delivery and set-up: $20
• First-year servicing plan: $40
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. Thinking of Quezon City
Stay strong, Remedios. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. Thinking of Quezon City.
You're not alone, Remedios. Hope the doctors have good news. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. All the best.
