Independence for Céline: specialist standing frame

A specialist standing frame would give Céline independence - we're $3,300 away.

Céline lives with muscular dystrophy. The occupational therapist at Toronto General Hospital has assessed her and recommended a specialist standing frame. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $3,300. Her current equipment is 13 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined her to home for 4 weeks. With the right equipment Céline could attend work interviews. It would change everyday life for the whole family. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered. Where the $3,300 goes: • specialist standing frame: $2,850 • Fitting and training sessions: $105 • Delivery and set-up: $125 • First-year servicing plan: $220 If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people. - Valérie

  • Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Céline.

Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. specialist standing frame comes first ($2,850) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. Fair thing to want to know.

  • Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Love from Sherbrooke

    • You're not alone. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend. Thinking of Toronto.
