Brooklyn can't leave home - help build a ramp
Help Brooklyn regain independence: a simple ramp build.
🇺🇸 Texas, United States940 views
Brooklyn has used a wheelchair since 2023, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Brooklyn can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the local accessibility standard of 1:12 slope, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate six hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Brooklyn's family will cook lunch for the team.
Glad we found this place.

Hang in there. Shared this with my family. My cousin had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Take care.
