Independence for Brian: pair of hearing aids
Brian needs a pair of hearing aids that the health system won't fund; the cost is $3,450.
🇺🇸 Macon, Georgia, United States763 views
Brian lives with muscular dystrophy. The occupational therapist at Macon General Hospital has assessed him and recommended a pair of hearing aids. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $3,450.
His current equipment is 10 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined him to home for 10 weeks.
With the right equipment Brian could get to the shops and visit friends. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered.
Where the $3,450 goes:
• pair of hearing aids: $2,850
• Fitting and training sessions: $310
• Delivery and set-up: $120
• First-year servicing plan: $170
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
