Ilana was diagnosed with a hip fracture that never healed properly in June. The surgeon at Tel Aviv Community Hospital recommended emergency hernia repair, and She is scheduled for August. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $5,500, and after what our health plan will pay we're still $4,050 short.
my daughter has been in and out of Tel Aviv Community Hospital since June. The doctors say a hip fracture that never healed properly will get worse without emergency hernia repair. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $5,500 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Ilana struggles with daily life and can't drive. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 5 weeks. During that time Ilana won't be able to drive, so the costs keep growing.
