I'm caring for my mother, who's 79. After worsening Parkinson's disease Yetunde can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Yetunde desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 25 hours a week and have cut back to look after her, but we need a part-time carer.
Yetunde worked all of her life as a carpenter, and raised 5 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for six months will make a huge difference.
Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies.
Where the $700 goes:
• Medication and prescriptions: $90
• Part-time carer (six months): $550
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $60

hope things get better soon. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money.
