I'm caring for me, who's 91. After a diagnosis of dementia Regina can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Regina desperately wants to stay at home. I work 25 hours a week and have cut back to look after her, but we need a part-time carer. Regina worked all of her life as a nurse, and raised 5 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back. Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for eight months will make a huge difference. Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies. Where the $1,950 goes: • Part-time carer (eight months): $1,600 • Hospital bed and mattress rental: $135 • Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $215 Thanks for being kind about this.
