I'm caring for my father, who's 83. After worsening Parkinson's disease Rahul can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Rahul desperately wants to stay at home. I work 40 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer. Rahul worked all of his life as a factory worker, and raised 3 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back. Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for four months will make a huge difference. Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies. Where the $850 goes: • Part-time carer (four months): $580 • Medication and prescriptions: $145 • Hospital bed and mattress rental: $25 • Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $100 Every share and every dollar helps. - Aditi

    • Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Rahul

Sure. The biggest one is part-time carer (four months), $580. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. Thanks for looking so closely.

    • Keep going, Aditi. It takes guts to ask. Well done. After 26 years in social work I know how hard it's to ask for anything.
