I'm caring for my father, who's 81. After worsening Parkinson's disease Naresh can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Naresh desperately wants to stay at home. I work 30 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer. Naresh worked all of his life as a schoolteacher, and raised 3 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back. Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for three months will make a huge difference. The carer will be employed through a registered agency and paid directly. I'll share the agency invoices. Where the $650 goes: • Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $55 • Part-time carer (three months): $470 • Medication and prescriptions: $125 If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.

Is there anything that isn't money that would help Naresh?

Thank you. If you're in Bengaluru I'll say if something practical comes up. For now sharing this is great.

    • You're not alone, Karan. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I have a 8 year old who wants to send good wishes too. God bless.

      • Take care, Karan. Hope you get there. After 21 years in farming I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Thinking of Bengaluru.

        • Thinking of you, Karan. This could happen to any of us. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Love from Vancouver.

          • Sending good thoughts. Your post was clear and honest. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Love from Tamale.

            • Stay strong. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry!
