Home care fund for Melanie in Aurora
Melanie, 76, needs daily care to stay at home, and the family is raising $5,800 for a carer and medicines.

I'm caring for my mother, who's 76. After worsening Parkinson's disease Melanie can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Melanie desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 25 hours a week and have cut back to look after her, but we need a part-time carer.
Melanie worked all of her life as a carpenter, and raised 5 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for six months will make a huge difference.
The carer will be employed through a registered agency and paid directly. I'll share the agency invoices.
Where the $5,800 goes:
• Part-time carer (six months): $4,500
• Medication and prescriptions: $620
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $220
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $460
I hope life is good to you.

Hope it all works out, Thomas. Hope the doctors have good news. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Greetings from Bangkok.

You're not alone. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. It's not much but it's yours.
Best of luck, Thomas. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. All the best
Hope it all works out, Thomas. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double
