Home care fund for Maryam in Abbottabad
Maryam, 79, needs daily care to stay at home, and the family is raising $500 for a carer and medicines.

I'm caring for my mother, who's 79. After a diagnosis of dementia Maryam can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Maryam desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 50 hours a week and have cut back to look after her, but we need a part-time carer.
Maryam worked all of her life as a farmer, and raised 5 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for eight months will make a huge difference.
Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies.
Where the $500 goes:
• Part-time carer (eight months): $300
• Medication and prescriptions: $80
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $50
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $70
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

We're at 36% thanks to 5 of you. I met with the care agency and confirmed the amounts. More news soon.
Good news. Because of your gifts ($140 in total) I met with the care agency and confirmed the amounts. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Love from Recife
