I'm caring for my mother, who's 96. After the death of her spouse Hadas can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Hadas desperately wants to stay at home. I work 40 hours a week and have cut back to look after her, but we need a part-time carer. Hadas worked all of her life as a carpenter, and raised 5 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back. Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for three months will make a huge difference. Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies. Where the $1,250 goes: • Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $430 • Medication and prescriptions: $570 • Hospital bed and mattress rental: $250 If you're reading this, thank you.

  • Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Hadas.

    • Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. mobility aids and bathroom adaptations comes first ($430) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. I'll keep the page updated.

  • Sending love. Your post was clear and honest. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like

    • Thinking of you, Yoav. Shared this with my family. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend. Take care!
