I'm caring for my mother, who's 95. After a fall and hip fracture Abril can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Abril desperately wants to stay at home. I work 30 hours a week and have cut back to look after her, but we need a part-time carer. Abril worked all of her life as a schoolteacher, and raised 3 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back. Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for four months will make a huge difference. Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies. Where the $500 goes: • Hospital bed and mattress rental: $135 • Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $140 • Medication and prescriptions: $225 Please ask me anything in the questions section.
