Heru is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying a degree in civil engineering at Depok State College, and is one semester away from graduating. He has worked as a warehouse packer to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $750. The registrar has said Heru can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Heru has a top-ten-percent average, and a professor has written in support. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Heru would lose his place and scholarship eligibility. Heru isn't asking for a handout - He wants to finish what He started and help the next student. The payment will go directly to the Depok State College bursar's office. I'll post the receipt. Where the $750 goes: • Outstanding tuition balance: $290 • Final term tuition: $410 • Exam and lab fees: $25 • Textbooks and materials: $25 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
