Adama
Zelalem is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying an accounting degree at the Adama Institute of Technology, and is two terms away from graduating. He has worked as a tutor to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $200. The registrar has said Zelalem can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Zelalem has a top-ten-percent average, and a faculty supervisor has written in support. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Zelalem would lose his place and scholarship eligibility. Zelalem isn't asking for a handout - He wants to finish what He started and help the next student. Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees. Where the $200 goes: • Exam and lab fees: $40 • Textbooks and materials: $20 • Outstanding tuition balance: $140 Glad we found this place.
