Tayo was diagnosed with stomach cancer in April. The oncology team at Kaduna University Hospital has planned 4 rounds of treatment, starting in July. He will be away from work for about 4 weeks. Tayo is 48, worked as a bank teller until April, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Kaduna University Hospital 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $950 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $390 • Scans and lab work: $240 • Transport to Kaduna University Hospital: $100 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $60 • Household costs while unable to work: $160 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
