Shilpa is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying a degree in civil engineering at Savannah Community College, and is one semester away from graduating. She has worked as a delivery rider to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $6,100. The registrar has said Shilpa can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Shilpa has a 3.6 average, and a professor has written in support. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Shilpa would lose her place and scholarship eligibility. Shilpa isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student.
