Saint Paul
Since 2020, our volunteer team has run the Sunday Shelf every Saturday from the back of the parish hall. We started with 29 families, and now we feed 122 each week. Donations have dropped by about 33% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 12 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Saint Paul market and keep every receipt. Each $60 feeds a family of four for a week. All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs. Where the $2,250 goes: • Baby formula and diapers: $590 • Refrigeration and electricity: $360 • Fresh vegetables and fruit: $1,300 Thanks for reading all this. - Sarah

best of luck, Sarah. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like.
